Can I apply cosmetics if I have breakouts & pimples on my face?

I have small pimples on my forehead and some big **** pimples on my cheeks and visible pores. Should I continue to apply cosmetics to cover up? I apply concealer %26amp; powder form foundations to cover up them and it makes me more confident to face people. Now, I apply cosmetics everyday before I go to work. If I don't apply, I will look so different and lack of confident when people look at me. My relatives ask me to stop applying make up but it's really hard for me to stop just like that. Can I apply cosmetics if I have breakouts %26amp; pimples on my face?
First you must address the core issue. Your skin. Make sure you are following a good skincare regiment that includes a face wash made for oily skin. Due to your large pores and breakouts I'm assuming you're oily. Use an oil-free moisturizer, yes even oily skins need moisture. There are also treatments you could use in between to heal and prevent future breakouts.

As far as the makeup, go with an oil-free, noncomedogenic (won't clog pores) foundation. You can find them in powder or liquid form. Just because you are breaking out doesn't mean you can't wear foundation.

Before your foundation, and after your moisturizer, apply a foundation primer (if using a liquid or cream formula) that has silicone in it. This will reduce your oiliness, fill pores and fine lines, and make your foundation last longer. Can I apply cosmetics if I have breakouts %26amp; pimples on my face?
honey ur doing it all wrong, FIrst of all ITS THE MAKE UP THAT BRINGS PIMPLES AND PORES! stop using make up and conver up for a while and instead use the tinted skin colored clearasil it works better and blends wit ur skin... jus stop using make up for a while
What you need to do is clear up you pimples first.

Try proactiv. It worked for me. Then get yourself a make-up that will not clog your pores. Make sure it is oil - free. I use bare minerals. I still break out once in a while, but that is normal.

Good Luck!!!
k, so just make sure ur using acne medicine...i really like retin-A micro..it works REALLY well for acne. then, for the concealer, yea Mary Kay does have some that might help reduce acne, depending oin how bad ur situation is. make sure u wash ur face alot, it helps... oooo and MAC has these really awesome, i wanna say they're like tissues..but not really, but n e ways, they absorbe oils on ur face...i use it and it works really well! so try that! but other wise, try not to apply TOO much cosmetics on ur face cuz it will clog ur pores and cuase more breakouts... i dont really like the powder form foundation, cuz that REALLY clogs ur pores, so basically,: wash ur face more often then u would normally, maybe like, 1 in the moring, 1 when u get home, 1 at night...more the better... then try the MAC stuff, and the Retin-A Micro=]] hope this helps!!!!! =]]
Find a good astringent and take care of your skin first. If it worries you to do this while going to work then schedule a vacation and do it then. Also, explore more hypoallergenic types of make up that are available today. Your skin must come first as you are the one who needs to feel comfortable in it. True beauty doesn't come from make up it comes from inner confidence and being comfortable with who you are.
what brand do you use?? try clinique, physicians formula stuff like that. or go to merle norman. try oil free make-up that has benzoil peroxide-the stuff in face cleaner. and if make-up makes you feel confident and if it looks right for you then and makes you feel better then keep wearing make-up. just use olay night clothes to remove the make-up so you wont get break-outs.
i dont makeup over my acne becasue it makes it worse. but im soo happy becasue my acne is going away!! heck yes!!
Well what is important is to buy makeup for sensitive skin that is hypoallergenic. Read the ingredients. You would be surprised at what they put in makeup. YOu may hae to pay a little more for the good stuff but it will be better for your skin. Good Luck.
I know what you are going through. I have tried a lot of different make up brands from Estee Lauder to discount store brands. The brand that seems o work the best is Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup. You might want to avoid using a powder makeup, because that will more likely clog your pores during the day. Liquid foundation floats on the top of your skin throughout the day. Make sure that you wash your face well before going to bed so that there is no residue left from your makeup. Make sure that the makeup is oil-free and non-ancegenic.
Mary Kay has some good acne products

you should try and find a consultant in your area and she can help u
I know how it feels.........I've tried lot of products and it all leads me to break out...one thing work only for me...CLEAR NOW withouth the break outs. I can hook you up if intersted.
Youre not washing your face as much as you should. A facial can help your pores be minimized and clean them out. Try using proactive. You dont need to discountinue the use of makeup. Yes, if your pores are clogged youll breakout, but if you get you hair in your face and you have a lot of hair products on it youll breakout as well. Proactive also carries senistive makeup. Just make sur eyou exfoliate, wash, moisturize, the works. Laziness will lead to horriable skin.
Well its best to stop wearing make up for a while till your acne clears up...but if you cant do that then just get make up products that have acne fighting chemicals in it like NEUTROGENA has a foundation that has salycic acid in it to fight pimples.
ok i had the exact some problem, first of all go to lush.com and buy some face wash, its really good for you its all natural, and wont harm your face, and it really works, my entire family swears by this stuff, if you have oily skin, try the coal face soap, it works wonders

second, your gonna wanna use all natural foundation, etc, like bare minerals, or prescriptives, prescriptives is made from dematologist and it wont clog your pores, or harm your face, and it has great coverage, go to the department store to get it, its kinda pricey but totaly worth it, i would die if i didnt have this stuff, its amazing, dont use MAC, etc, cuz that stuff is like thick stage makeup, but yea try those and your face will clear up in like a week i promise you i cuz i had the exact same problem

you dont gotta give up makeup to spare your face from acne, you just gotta know what to get =] good luck go get PRESCRIPTIVES now!! haha
you can, but try not to put it on the pimples, it will clog ur face up and make it worse.
if you continue to put make up on your face while you have this problem it will make it worse, i had the same problem try the product clique or go see a doctor also drink water and dont touch your face at all and keep you hair of your face this will help and dont put make up on it will make it worse....
Acne sucks! It is really hard to find the right makeup for your skin type. I never used to wear makeup but then I started and I can't stop!! lol. I go everywhere with it on now. I asked the makeup lady at the cosmetics counter for some pointers and finally found the right style. If your family is telling you to stop wearing makeup there must be a reason? MAybe your makeup is to noticeable? Or it looks bad on you. Ask your doctor for acne advice or see a dermatoligist! And remember, everyone looks better with a little makeup applied correctly. Good luck.
No, do not use makeup products, it will make your face worse.
If the makeup is cheap and oil based it can really have some bad effect one your skin. But if you want makeup that can accually be goos for your skin use bare essentails, but its pretty pricey! For a more affordable makeup use nuetrogena mineral makeup. HOPE I HELPED!
Foundation will clog your pores, and cause more breakouts if you continue to do it. It will also introduce foreign artificial substances on open wounds and that i not good. You have to let your skin breathe. But only do this when you're getting some real treatment for it. Try retine or laser (if you can afford it), both of them work. Also if you don't think you can show up to work with a pimply face, try wearing very very little foundation, and no concelear. They are even worse for cloging your pores.
Lots of good advice here...just can't stress enough the issue of skin care.

While you're trying to heal your skin, wear makeup as little as possible (wear it to work, but take it off at home)...the product GeishaGirl suggested is great.

Also, look into picking up a Mint Julep Face Masque to use once or twice a week. I use Queen Helene's and it works great for tightening up the pores and reducing breakouts...also just makes skin look and feel healthier.

Wash you face well after wearing makeup and don't forget the moisturizer!
